Website is lagging and jerky....not a smooth view when scrolling down

Hi, the website seems really laggy when I am working on the back end. And when published,

  1. it does not seem to load smoothly , it will load and parts of it will be visible before the rest loads…
  2. when scrolling it seems jerky

thank you

Adriana

Can you share your site link as well as you pubic share link?

Hi @VladimirVitaliyevich Here is the public share link https://preview.webflow.com/preview/canna-884a21d6ef12ae09291-a8df98917d815?preview=98a9d7ab8350869629fa5c5225ac985b

Is the site link the link when I publish the website? http://canna-884a21d6ef12ae09291-a8df98917d815.webflow.io/kubio_homepage

Also, i purchased the template, when viewing it, it is running smoothly, but when I overlay my content in it, it starts to lag or jerk when I publish it.

THanks

Hey @adriana! I could be wrong, but I think it is the size of all of your images that is causing the lag. While they are all beautiful, they are also quite bulky! I tested your site using tools.pingdom.com and it looks like your combined images are over 14MB. Try dropping the size of your images to under 1000kb each. They will still look amazing, but won’t bog down the site as much

Again, I may be wrong, but I hope this helps!

Here are the Pingdom test results!

@Hamilton Thanks for the suggestion. will try that!!

@Hamilton one more question,…can i resize the image thats already in webflow or do i need to resize it outside of webflow and then upload back into webflow? Please advise. THanks

You will have to resize the image outside of webflow then upload it again! I use Lightroom for this, but there are many programs that can do it. This article helped me a ton!
