Webfont.js SEO issue

Hi everyone,

Using SEMRush we found out that we have 57 issues with uncompressed JavaScript and when i look at what the resource is i found out that it comes from https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/webfont/1.6.26/webfont.js

I’m no expert in fonts and what is or isn’t possible but wondered if there’s a way for Webflow to compress this issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ivana

@webdev do you have any idea?

Hello, your post does not follow the guidelines for this topic category. Please review and update your post accordingly. Thanks.

@webdev As far i know this topic is about SEO issue, what is wrong here?

  1. Share your project’s Read-Only link AND live site’s Published link

Have you inspected the response headers on all the files yourself? Or are you just relying on whatever some automated tool reports back?

If you want me to look then share a URL for me to inspect in devtools. If you prefer to keep everything private, that is fine. I am available for consulting. Just PM me.

As i already said i have not any experience with fonts, i just found out that SEMRush are reporting this issue and i am lost about how to fix it.

scheme https
host ajax.googleapis.com
filename /ajax/libs/webfont/1.6.26/webfont.js
content-encoding: gzip

So, the file is served compressed as would be expected by Google. The other 12 scripts were served with br or gzip compression.

@webdev Where i have this issue in my webflow project? In settings —> custom code i have not any script for webfont and in settings → Fonts i just have ‘installed custom fonts’ and two ‘added google fonts’ (kindly find the screenshots bellow).
Can you explain me better?

If you use a font from google then the script will be loaded.
