I am looking for a solution to make Webflow and Shopify work seamlessly together. I know various options on the market to make it happen (Udesly adapter, Shopify and Buy Button) but none of these are convenient enough to me. These solution always rely on Shopify for the checkout and it’s not something I want.
That said, I was wondering if someone has already built a connexion between Webflow and Shopify using either Zapier or Integromat that would take orders from Webflow, push them to Shopify and then push them back once fulfilled in Webflow. The idea is to handle the ordering process in Webflow and the order management in Shopify
Hi @martinreboux I use both Webflow (standard and ecom) and Shopify heavily, and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere near the functionality you’re requesting. In an ideal world it could work, but splitting up your ecom store between 2 services will introduce a LOT of headaches and complexities.
I would for sure recommend choosing 1 platform. One thing you could do is host the non-ecom pages on webflow at example.com , and then all the ecom pages on Shopify at shop.example.com
There are several routes you can take this depending on your situation. I would personally recommend you go the Udesly adapter route since it sounds like you already have a Shopify store setup. As @justin_c said, the road you are trying to take is the most convoluted one.
Now if you don’t have a Shopify subscription or would be willing to switch, two solutions that handle everything on-site from orders to customer accounts is either Snipcart or Foxy. Both are great, it just depends on your needs.
As @justin_c mentioned, Shopify isn’t really an order management platform—it’s an ecommerce platform that has fairly minimal order management features—so utilizing it to fulfill orders from Webflow doesn’t seem like a path I’d recommend researching too deeply.
Is there a reason why you’d like to use Shopify for fulfillment? Personally I found it to have terrible order management features and have used third party tools like Shipstation or Shippo exclusively in my Shopify-powered projects. Shippo is the option that works natively with Webflow, but Foxy is another option that works seamlessly with Webflow (in place of their native option) and they have a much larger selection of shipping/fulfillment integrations:
My e-commerce is currently under Webflow and I use Airtable to deal everything order related. It is working but everything needs to be built from scratch since Webflow is very limited.
Shopify is certainly offering great features to handle an ecommerce site although it wouldn’t be that popular. Many apps can be purchased to enhance its use and that’s why I mentioned Shopify.
I know very well Foxy and Snipcart but as far as I understood, both palteforms are tricky to implement (for a non developer) and doesn’t offer a pixel perfect customization as Webflow.
The idea is really to keep the front end in Webflow and use a proven backend solution

Josh from Foxy here. For most use cases, integration Foxy is pretty straightforward, especially if you’re comfortable using Webflow. It’s even possible to manage your products, customers, orders, etc. 100% in Airtable, syncing data to Webflow CMS as needed.
Customizing Foxy templates does require css experience, though, we have a tutorial for easily adding a custom header/footer from your Webflow design. We’ve got new templates coming next year that you’ll be able to visually style (or use custom css as needed).

Hi @martinreboux I recently had this question brought to me by a client and we were able to build out the ability for them to use Shopify products within their webflow designs. We also made it possible for the buy button, slider cart and cart icon all to be editable within webflow. Meaning Shopify just handled their product stock.
The benefit of this was it allowed them to have the front end design abilties of Webflow but the back end functionalities like product handling and customer automation that shopify offers.
This was buit using the shopify API and jquery. It takes the product id from the webflow CMS and doesn’t require the user to create a buy button each time. It also allows the cart to be visable on all pages something the standard buybutton code doesn’t do.

How did you manage to get the Product ID’s from Shopify to Webflow?
It seems like I need to do it one by one manually and its not viable option for large inventories. Looking for automation for that.

Hi Tommi, our integration can help you import Shopify IDs to Webflow CMS through our Dashboard.
You just need to click “sync” next to any product/collection/policy and it will be imported/updated in Webflow MCS.
