Upcoming new features and pricing changes

I have paid until July 2017 for my current website. Will this offer be available then when I decide to renew?

@Joe_Hoff You’re grandfathered at your current plan, and we won’t be enforcing page limits on existing hosting plans.

@ctotty @inglebri We consider “life of a subscription” to be that site’s subscription as long as it stays active, even if it’s many years into the future. One thing to note is the 50% discount is only available on hosting plans that are paid month-to-month.

@rafdesign Can you contact our support team at support@webflow.com? We can make sure that you’re locked in to the new pricing now (which will save you money starting right away), and will also renew at the discounted rate next year.

Thanks for replying, I’ve sent an email to support.

Lovely news! But hmm, I’m a bit confused regarding your reply here. In the e-mail and information posted as this threads first post above, it basically says that it will be 50% for both CMS and non-CMS hosting if you sign up for a hosting plan after Dec 19 and before July 1st. In your reply you stated it’s only for the non-CMS hosting. Can you clarify this in case I’m misunderstanding?

Love the new features, and excited for whats to come!

However, I have a question. If you are on the professional plan at $42 dollars a month. Do you now get moved to the Business tier that is going to be $45 for the grandfathered amount $42?

Great stuff @callmevlad Big plans to grow my business on the webflow platform :sunglasses:

I feel the same! I would like to stay, but it seems like you are making changes just for web designers and advanced users. I could be without many features, I just want the awesome builder and to be able to have my own url.

You’ll still be able to do that for $12/month (Basic with Annual payment), which is cheaper than Squarespace

I went to the upgrade page, but I didn’t see an option to upgrade. I’ve been a member for awhile now - does it not show for me because we roll into those? or is it just not available yet?

@StevenP Oops, I edited my previous reply - it’s applicable to all hosting plans, I was just referring to the original question which was in reference to @brettwill1025’s basic hosting plan

@zachjarr Nothing changes for the Professional designer plan (aside from the improvements such as unlimited projects, and included CMS whitelabeling), and all your current hosting plans remain unchanged. The new Business plan is just for hosting individual sites, and you have will have th option of adding that plan to one of your hosted sites should you need it.

@DigtalCrusader Glad to hear that! :tada:

@Malixten We’re actually moving closer to the SquareSpace per-site model, and you can absolutely design just one site and host it on our platform without having to upgrade to one of the paid multi-project plans like Hobby or Professional. So your price is actually dropping if you need to design and host just one if you choose the new annual hosting discount option

@seank Yes, we’re pre-announcing these changes to give our users and community ample notice, but these changes don’t kick in until December 19th.

Sounds great! I upgraded to a plan so that I could have all the design features, like video background and custom htlm. What about them then?

I only need Webflow 3 months per year to update my portfolio and I can host the site on my 10 year old domain hosting plan elsewhere. Any plans for me?

Is there any way you can offer the 50% discount on annual plans as well? It will end up being the same price as now otherwise. I was really excited to get a site at 8 bucks a month annually which is way easier for taxes anyway.

The tiers that are listed in the image are hosting prices per site?

I thought hosting was +$5 per hosted site if you are on the professional or better?

Now the basic hosting will be +$15 monthly per hosted site?
Also what if you exceed 25k monthly visits?

Thanks for being awesome and answer the questions.

What @callmevlad mentioned about the SquareSpace per site model is concerning me. One of the main reasons I moved from SquareSpace was the price. They are just too expensive for what they offer.

Granted with Webflow I have so much more flexibility but the price hike with the hosting plans is going to either eat into my profit or I am going to have to increase my hosting fees which are going to make clients think twice about coming to me because other designers are more competitively priced.

With the price increase, I think there needs to be a serious consideration regarding the implementation of native Commerce into Webflow as that is one big thing it lacks.
