Unable to span images across the grid rows

I have read most topic but can’t seem to find an answer for this

I started using the grid with this project and the image elements were spanning correctly, I am unsure if I moved something (dont think so) but now I can’t seem to get the images to span across the rows and columns of the grid, which I thought was a default setting of the grid as it is a tool for responsiveness.

I have also deleted and started fresh and set the grid to the manual, however, I don’t get the anchor at the bottom right to span the elements around.

A Solution would be:

  1. Delete your Images and use Backgrounds instead…

  2. Stretch your Container out
