Hello everyone,
I bought a template from vortex studio: https://vortex-studio.webflow.io/
as you can see while hovering their logo they include a cool animation where the letters enlarge and go back to normal when moving out.
when trying to change the font with my own one or any other available on webflow this animation get lost. is something specific with that font or is achievable with other font too? i would like to use my own one but i can’t figure out how to do it. is there a way?
here’s a video to explain my issue
thanks a lot in advance
update: I’ve watched this video from webflow university: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaGXFBMFT0Q&ab_channel=Webflow
but when i change fonts i don’t see the option to add a variation to my font.
Hello @manfredicops, yes so the template is using variations from a variable font, and to be able to access the variations of a variable font you have to upload the font into Webflow, you can’t use the Google or Adobe fonts integration even if you select a variable font. So basically you have to download the font you want to use and upload it into Webflow to be able to use the variations. Also, make sure that the font you upload has similar variations as the font used in the template, because not all variable fonts have the same variations. I hope this helps!
Hi pablo thanks fro your reply.
i saw this feature is not supported with adobe and google fonts. but i’ve been trying to use it only with other fonts and what ever font i upload to webflow it’s not working. also tried to use the variation feature with the fonts already available in webflow ( the one they own from the list while designing) and the variation feature won’t appear.
if you check the gif/video i uploaded on the topic i’m actually choosing a font i own and uploaded to webflow
Hey @manfredicops, yes I see that it is a font that you uploaded, but is that font a variable font? So in order for Webflow to show you the font variations feature you have to upload a variable font. So the file has to specify it is a variable font. I hope this helps.
