Stuck trying to remove collections from my CMS website! PLEASE HELP!

Hi there all,

Help please!! Beginner with Webflow over here…

(context) I bought a template that my freelance client really wanted, and that includes a CMS system (which is not needed for the project im working on but hey ho!)

I tried to add an instagram ‘elfsight’ plug in, and adding the custom code into the ‘Code Embed’ element that Webflow provide, however, to use this with a paid Webflow account or active site plan.

When selecting the ‘Basic site plan’ i get the message saying:
“To upgrade to a Basic Site plan, you need to delete all existing CMS items and collections. If you’d like to keep them, you can upgrade to a CMS Site plan instead.”

I’ve gone into the back-end to try and delete the items/collections but i fails/does not allow me to delete them and i’m not sure why. I can’t even remove the connections of the collections as the icon makes it unavailable.

What should i do? Stuck and need help!

Welcome!
To help, the forum will need additional info:

  • Required: Share your project’s Read-Only link and live site’s Published link
  • The read-only link is a special URL generated in the Dashboard to allow others to view your project in the Webflow Designer. How to get your project’s read-only link?
  • The published link is the webflow.io subdomain where you can view the live site with custom code running. It is IMPORTANT to share this link, as custom code (eg. javaScript) does not run in the Designer.
  • Describe issue in detail including what page, section and/or element is localized
  • Upload as many screenshots as possible or provide screencast videos to help others help you faster
  • Add a description and/or post a link to a working example of what you’re trying to achieve
  • Reply to users by tagging using the @ sign followed by their forum username like this: @forumMemberName

Webflow has some docs on this;
It’s a fair bit of work. You’ll need to unbind everything from every page.

Have a look a Finsweet’s Unbind CMS tool as well.
