Hi, I recently switched from wordpress to webflow because of the awesome and very client-friendly Webflow CMS. However, I am missing some features and concepts when it comes to designing pages.
Check http://cloud-press.net/ i.e. It is so incredibly easy to design a page from top to bottom, in 30 seconds. It’s just to drag n’ drop blocks and customize them afterwards. And yes, it can be more difficult to customize certain (very few) aspects without coding. But in most cases, the WYSIWYG tools are enough.
I’m talking about:
Predefined blocks
Cool dividers and separators between sections (that can be tilted and more)
Predefined Headings with awesome underlines
Predefined animations
Global headers and menus
and other things you can see on cloudpress
I’m not saying Webflow is bad, but I think there is a lot of features in wordpress and cloudpress that would have been awesome to have implemented in Webflow
I’m sure a lot of those will be coming in the future. Webflow is aimed at a slightly different market than tools like that. Most of webflow users are designers like me that want full control over the layout and functionality and would gladly trade that for slightly more limited CMS features. Stay tuned, webflow is still in it’s infancy yet quite powerful.
Thanks,
With predefined blocks I mean pre-made “section-templates”. Like ready-made CTA-sections, features sections, hero sections… Stuff like that. So you can change content or customize, and make your own section-templates.
I love to have complete control, but these are just suggestions to make the designing process faster, so we don’t have to start from 0 each time we want to put in an animation for example.
With separators it would have been awesome to have a dropdown with different ready-made styles; tilt, triangle, clouds, skewed triangle, and more… Instead of having to build them from the ground up each time. Take a look at this: http://demos2.gambit.ph/rowseparators/?preview
Predefined Headings with awesome underlines
Try using bottom border styles
Yeah, I thought about having a library inside of webflow with separators like this: 15 Web Separator and Divider Templates for Web Design for example… But it’s totally fine to me to just upload these as images when I give it a second thought
