When I run an SEO report it shows that my clients Website is hosted in America. As my clients are all in the UK might this cause an issue? I have one client www.posturepump.co.uk who is a distributor for www.posturepump.com based in America. Does this mean the UK site is competing with the .com? I ask as the Marketing Agency he has just employed have flagged it as an issue.
I’ve never heard of the location of hosting server affecting SEO before. The most it will affect is initial loading speed of the site, but the difference would be negligible to worry about.
What you should be looking at is locally-targeted/location-specific content and backlinks from local sites, as well as a locally-targeted adwords campaign.
Thank you @samliew - much appreciated.
