Renewal date and charging confusion

I plan to move a site to the client’s workspace before renewal.

While the site plan’s period ending is clearly on the 28th, I received an email reminder on the 8th saying it will be renewed in 7 days….

“Your Business Hosting plan for site xxxxx in Workspace hypestudio-workspace renews in 7 days. You will see a charge in the amount of $468.00* on your Mastercard ending in XXXX on November 28, 2024.”

In that case, my client will not have enough time to finish their financial process and prepare for their Workspace account.

So, does the renewal happen in 7 days or on the site plan’s ending date?

It’s my first time noticing this tbh. Anyone has experience with this? Thanks! (urgent, weflow support is too slow)

Only Webflow can answer billing or billing notification questions.

Not sure what this means, but all they need is a CC number. Easy options;

  • Keep the site in your workspace, switch it to monthly before the renewal date. Bill them for that added month.
  • Have them create the free workspace and invite you. Transfer the site and switch the plan to monthly on your own CC, bill them, have them add their own billing when they’re ready and switch back to annual. If you are not on a service provider Freelancer / Agency workspace and cannot be invited, they could share their login and change the password later.

I still have not heard back from Webflow after one and a half days.:sweat_smile:

Yes, I am considering changing the site subscription to monthly, just in case. But it will charge the monthly fee immediately.

We are not in a good position to charge the client as it was us who told the client to prepare a workspace account with a payment method ready by the 22nd.

Anyway, thanks for the advice.

UPDATE: Webflow support has responded.

It’s confirmed that there is a bug causing the system to send the wrong renewal date to some users.

All fine now🙌🏻
