Preventing Google from indexing our old pages

Hi,

Our company decided to only leave the landing page and remove all others from Google searches. I’ve made sure that all other pages except for the home page are put to a draft mode, but when you search the company on Google it keeps showing previous pages (like an announcement on a partnership, news that we were highlighted in, etc.) - although they’re now all in draft mode.

They are all part of multiple CMS Collections we have, and all of these sub-CMS Collection pages are currently indexed on Google - and once clicked it just says “Page no longer active”.

I have no website building experience so if you could please let me know how to un-index these pages step-by-step, that would be greatly appreciated…!

Thank you so much in advance!

Are you actually wanting those pages to be gone from the internet, or just from Google?

Draft mode means they’re unpublished and not accessible to anyone, even if they click a link from an email, another site, social media, etc.

The answer to that will determine some details.

But to expedite removal of the items from Google Search, you use Google Search Console and the removal tool.

Hi, thanks for the answer. We want the pages to be just gone from the Google, but kept in draft mode in Webflow. I did see UserAgent thing and using noindex code but couldn’t understand anything as the instructions were not step by step :sob:

We don’t have access to our Google Search Console, so can only do it from Webflow…

Thank you so much!

Just to be clear, draft means completely offline, but not deleted.
Someday you could re-publish them but for now, they do not exist on your site.

You can’t remove pages from Google directly using Webflow, they do not control Google. You’d setup a Google Search Console account instead.

I do this type of SEO work if you need help, let me know and I’ll DM you my details.
