I’m new to Webflow and the very first step is already causing me problems, adding a section! Whenever I drag and drop a section in
to the body the section only fills up about 70% of the page. Even after adding content to see if it will make the section stretch horizontally, it doesn’t

So you are using flex. You may need to set the section width to 100vw. You could also make use of the body element display settings to ensure children (sections) expand to fit horizontally. Starting out, it would be worth cloning some other sites from the showcase to get a feel for it all.
