New Feature: Webflow Analyse - a Google Analytics Copy or more?

Hey guys,

please help me to understand. I haven’t been to Webflow Conf and just read the blog update.
So I was quite excited about the analyze & optimize features to have more lean native integrations - till I saw the pricing…

So Webflow Analyze costs 39$ / month to test it - and just looks like a native Google Analytics to me. Since I don’t wonna test it for such a price - could someone who tried it please point out the reasons why it makes sense to switch from free Google Analytics to Webflow’s Analyze?

Another thought after reading webflow’s selling point “Built with privacy in mind: Analyze is a native Webflow feature, so you don’t need to worry about your data sprawling across third-party ecosystems” - I found that misleading, everyone in Europe should be really careful here.

Since webflow still doesn’t support European Hosting, you will host all your sites analytical data on US servers as well (same for google analytics). For GDPR compliant websites you should instead use (free) third-party ecosystems hosted on European servers to track your sites statistics.

I’m catching up on the event. How do they expect people to pay for these analytics if one can put a free Google Analytics code in the ?

@Alexander_Richter my understanding is that Webflow has signed the data protection agreement which means data to/from Webflow’s servers is fully GDPR-compliant. I generally don’t have to worry about that but a number of other experts have posted positively regarding that.

So the primary value proposition is that data security, and the integration. If your client is using the designer, then it’s convenient to see the data, and of course if you go further with A/B testing, there’s a lot more convenience there.

In my case, my team and my clients are super data- hungry, and we can’t get the stats we need to do effective CRO yet. I do like the integration though, it’s very promising. By comparison GA4 is a bit generic, and takes some work to teach clients and setup usable reports.

Pricing can be tough, especially for small businesses with under 10K views. Staying Webflow-native with FS Consent means paying for your plan plus $29 for Analyze and $10 for consent management. I wish the entry-level pricing were more affordable.

Since Webflow Analyze doesn’t set cookies, should it be fine to use without a consent banner? Fathom Analytics doesn’t use cookies either and says no banner is needed. Any insights on this?
