Hi, on the “Projects” page of my site, in Mobile view, some images are showing up as sideways. It’s really weird because on the webflow preview, things look normal - but then on the live site (if you open up a separate window) images are rotated.
I’ve reached out to Webflow about this, and they told me that it’s because I’ve set the images to be background images, but I don’t think that’s the case. Does anyone have any suggestions?
@juliamjacobson - The rotation of images shot vertically on a phone and then uploaded to the web is typically due to the way the orientation of the image is handled by the device and the website.
So, the rotation issue you’re seeing is likely due to a mismatch between the orientation metadata added by your device and how that metadata is interpreted (or not interpreted) by the website (Webflow) to which you’re uploading the image. Their designer interface might read the metadata but when you publish it looks like it is stripped out.
I don’t have a raw image of yours to inspect so I can’t be 100% certain but you could try to resolve this issue by opening the image in a image editing app, ensuring the rotation is correct and saving the image which you could upload and then test.
