Members | Disable Sign Up Page

I am building this site with gated content, but members are only allowed to sign-up by invitation. I’ve created a group and specified that they should get access “After manually adding them to the group”. I’m testing the function with my email, and I still get to sign-up through the sign up page. Is there any way to manually disable the sign-up page? This way members could only complete membership through an email invitation.

I remember playing with that before- you might be able to create a redirect for /sign-up to your homepage, or to your “here’s how to get invited” form page.

I’d agree with @memetican (as always, he’s the best community member on this forum hahaha)

Just dropping this here for anyone who hasn’t already started their project - if this is important to you, Memberstack offers a lot more flexibility in this regard. You don’t even have to make a sign up page if you don’t want to :)

Thanks for that. I have to say that given my client’s needs, Memberstack is a bit overkill. I just hope webflow fixes the few problematic details on their membership feature (i.e. the areas of link text that can’t be changed).

This is a clever solution. I ended up simply removing the form from the sign-up page and replacing it with a text.

Ha ha thanks Julian, I enjoy it, but I’m certainly not the best. It’s a great community.

@fredericG +1 on Memberstack, unfortunately, User Accounts as shelved as a project and isn’t likely to get much developer-wattage on it outside of basic maintenance and support. Memberstack is a far more customizable solution. Head there when you hit limitations you can’t accept with Webflow’s native solution.

Even better- I thought that might be prevented ( the “must have one on the page” error ), but I was going to suggest you try disabling it with Visibility hidden under settings. That would remove it from the published HTML entirely.

Glad you found a way through.
