Hi everyone,
I’m a first-time Webflow user and I purchased a magazine template to start my web building.
I’ve just selected one of the pages and amended it with the content I want but now I want to duplicate the page and use it as a template for additional magazine pages.
Each time I try to duplicate the page I get an error message saying I have reached the maximum number of pages for the template?
No, I have this problem too right now. The template is brand new and I’ve deleted so many pages there are only about 15 left. Still, I cannot duplicate any pages; it keeps saying “You’ve reached the maximum amount of pages for this site”.
How can I fix this? I need to duplicate pages inside this template for it to be viable.

Hey guys, same problem. Cant see any clear solutions on this thread. I’m on the basic plan. I only have 12 pages and can’t create new ones, even if I delete existing.
Any news on this? I purchased a template as well a hosting plan, and can’t do a thing with it. This is very frustrating, and makes me think this platform is not worth the hype. Can the @webflow team help?
I am not aware of any option to increase the static page amount above the current limit. . On multiple occasions Webflow has stated that this is a hard limit. Could they change their mind at some point? Anything is possible. Until I hear different from Webflow staff I would assume 100 is still the limit.
When purchasing a template it creates a new project with all the pages in the template. This project then can be customised to create your new website. Template purchase is a single use licence so it is intended for just the one project.
Please note that if you are on a free Webflow Starter account plan, and your templated project does not have a Site plan added, then the project will be limited to 2 pages only. You can still access all the pages in the paid template (unless deleted) however will not be able to duplicate a page, or add a new page without upgrading your account plan, or adding a site plan to the project.
So it is generally better to customise the existing pages in the template if you do not wish to add a site hosting plan yet.
If you are getting a page limit error after adding a site plan (hosting) to that project, or have any additional questions about page limits, please reach out to Webflow support on our contact page at Webflow Customer Support | Webflow University, so we can help to check further.
Note that as Jeff mentioned above, the 100 static page limit is currently a hard limit and cannot be increased. For more information on page limits please see Pages panel overview | Webflow University.
@RyanUK - Not directly that I am aware of. Since 20 collections lists can be on a page with 100 items each, the rendering time can be significant. Probably the same reason nested collection items is capped at 5. Performance.
Thanks. I have a problem. I am trying to create a very large learning content site. Even though it’s in my interest to create all the pages using the CMS it limits me a lot. I am going to run of of pages very quickly probably before I launch. You could say may be I was stupid for choosing Webflow. But there was a lot I liked about this platform. And I have used WP for more than 10 years, and it has it’s amazing flexibility, but admin nightmare, and so on. Each has it’s downside.
I suppose I expected issues with all platforms. But this one seems daft to me. I don’t consider myself an expert of any sort. But even then, if they can create great technology like this, then a solution for page issue exists.
I have always found tech companies that remove the human element very frustrating. I suppose I should not be surprised that almost all tech companies end up being “the computer says no”
@RyanUK - Honestly I don’t use Webflow for large sites. With large sites I need flexibility on templates (many not a one) and URL structures that WF does not offer. Fortunately there are lots of other excellent choices. One can even leverage a design exported from WF and migrate to other CMS offerings. I wish you success on your project.
Thanks. You are right. It’s a bad idea to use Webflow for larger sites or sites that will have a lot of content. I suppose I wanted simplicity. Maybe I was hoping for too much. I should have known better given the issues I have faced with other platforms. But this page limit has genuinely shocked me. Lots of things I can get my head around. I have built many WP sites and comes across hosting to batabase issues etc, but a page limit!!! I genuinely did not think anyone would even consider putting such a restriction. I suppose it goes to show, I know nothing
