I know how to upload a custom sitemap, I just don’t want to go through the hassle of continuously updating it.
So I just want to know that if there is a way to exclude collection pages from the sitemap?

Options are-
- Turn publishing off for that page. The CMS data still exists and can be used in collection pages, references etc, but the page doesn’t.
- Keep publishing on but use a robots noindex META to keep it from appearing in search engines. It will be in the sitemap however.
- Custom sitemap
- Reverse proxy to modify the sitemap
