How can you remove certain collection items from the autogenerated sitemap?

How can you remove certain collection items from the autogenerated sitemap? How is this not something that can be simply toggled on and off just like you can do with Static pages? The only toggle I see is to fully remove collection page publishing.

I need the collection pages to be published as they are required for campaigns and are short-lived but as these are not pages I want to show in the sitemap for Google to crawl my current solution of manually editing them is not sustainable and kind of defeats the purpose of having users edit and publish.

That’s not a feature of Webflow, but also, removing something from the sitemap does not prevent it from being indexed.

Is your goal to prevent crawling of those specific collection item pages, or to prevent indexing of them?

Crawling could be managed through the robots.txt but would require a full site republish and careful manual updates.

Index exclusion is managed through the robots META, not the sitemap, and that you can control per collection-item. Here’s the technique I use.
