Index slug - Not available to use?

Are we not able to use index slug…?
If are able, is there a simple way without folders etc?

I’ve seen a few posts about this but still unclear…

While Webflow automatically creates a homepage for every site, using ‘index’ as a slug isn’t recommended as it may conflict with default system behaviors. The homepage in Webflow typically uses ‘/’ as its URL path, and it’s best to use descriptive, meaningful slugs for other pages.

For your page URLs, consider these best practices:

  • Use clear, descriptive names that reflect the page content
  • Keep URLs simple and readable
  • Avoid technical terms like ‘index’ that could conflict with system defaults
  • Use hyphens to separate words if needed

You can customize your page URLs in the Pages panel by clicking on the gear icon next to any page and modifying the slug field.
