Recently, Webflow has added a more native way of adding alt text to images in the CMS, you can hover the image or multi-image field and change the alt-text of an image directly, so that’s great.
However, I’m importing a large number of CMS items with images via the CSV Import feature. Is there a way to tap into that new alt text functionality, or do I still need to just import the alt text into its own CMS field like I would have traditionally?

I haven’t seen anything new here and it seems unlikely- Multi-image fields are already a concatenated field.
But the way to find out is, create a collection with a multi-image field, add a few images with alts, and do a CSV export. If it’s supported, you’ll see how Webflow describes this in the CSV.
The API does appear to offer support if you wanted to load them that way.
Incidentally that means MCP can probably help with the load if you use Claude Desktop or a similar tool
