I was told webflow can't do ecommerce

All over YouTube and the interwebs I see people saying that webflow weakness is e-commerce. But I see others doing e-commerce tutorials with Webflow. As a newbie what are the pros and cons or the limitations of an e-commerce site built by Webflow.

One caveat…I am not interested in a Walmart-sized e-commerce site. Mostly small business or even medium size. For example, somewhere between 5-300 items.

thanks

Webflow Ecommerce certainly is known to have its limitations, but I think for smaller stores like yours built on WF, then its a great option to use.

At Monto.io, we try to fill in some of the functionality gaps of WF Ecom, so check us out if you’d like to increase conversions with our apps like Abandoned Cart Recovery, Affiliates, Reviews, and more! (Free plans available for each).

Let me know if you have any questions!

Webflow actually supports e-commerce through its built-in tools, allowing you to create and manage online stores. It offers features like customizable product pages, secure payment processing, and order management. However, it might have limitations compared to dedicated platforms like Shopify for larger-scale or highly complex e-commerce needs..

For that kind of size, an headless system like Smootify would be very easy to implement
