How to access public_html folder

Hi!

I use Namecheap for hosting my site. I have 20GB of disk space there. How can I access it? I mean I want to upload some files to it and access it with a direct URL. It doesn’t seem to work, Webflow gives me a 404 error. How can I override that? With using Webflow, I essentially lost public access to that storage?

Thanks

Hi Szilveszter,

Are you saying you’ve exported your Webflow site and uploaded it to Namecheap’s hosting? It’s just a set of files in exported form, so you’d use Namecheap’s FTP service or other upload facility just as usual.

If you’re saying you have;

  • a Namecheap domain, with file hosting
  • plus a Webflow-hosted site
  • and a Webflow DNS configuration

Then you probably need to check Namecheap’s hosting docs and setup a subdomain to associate to it, like files.mysite.com

In that configuration, you have two web servers running on the same domain- Webflow and Namecheap’s file hosting. That’s fine but they need to be setup at different hosting. Webflow will usually be setup for mysite.com and www.mysite.com.

No, I’ve not exported my site. I use Webflow editor and designer. It’s just the hosting that’s happenning on/via Namecheap. I’ve connected Webflow to it through the DNS records. So it’s the second case. I’ll try to set up a subdomain in Namecheap then
