Help with setting footer height

Hey!

I working on designing a footer section on a new site and I wanted it to look like it’s “revealing"–meaning the the section above it scrolls up while the footer below remains satic via fixed positioning. I did this same effect on the first section of my home page and how it looks to get “covered up.”

I was able to have two different fixed elements show by creating a “placeholder” for the footer that has a set height and triggers an animation causing the actual footer to show / hide when scrolling into view. What I’m struggling with is matching the height of this Footer Placeholder with the actual Footer.

Is there any way to do this? I want to make sure none of the information of the footer gets cuts off on the top or bottom as well as making sure we don’t see elements of the other fixed section peeking in between. Open to any tips here! Thank you!!
