Having trouble creating a custom portfolio

Hello,

My name is Brittany, so I have been trying to follow the tutorial videos on creating a custom portfolio.
I have been having some trouble in part 2 right off the bat. In the video is says start of by adding a section bloc and a div bloc. Then with the Div bloc add a width of 90 and and a max of 1000. Then to center it and add flex properties and a min of 200. Maybe I’m missing something and can’t see it, I could use the help. Thank you for your time.

Why did Webflow ask Brittany to post the question here instead of underneath the youtube video and then not answer the question? I am having the exact same problem.

yeah I don’t get it as we;;

Generally, design help is significantly easier to communicate on the forum since YouTube has limitations (such as not being able to embed images).

Happy to jump in and lend a hand — can you post a screenshot of the expected layout from the video and what you’re ending up with? That’ll help us diagnose what’s going on. Looking forward to your response so we can get to the bottom of this!

Has there been an answer to this question?

@Neill_Kropman What do you need help with?

Hi Rohan,

Referring to this tutorial video: https://youtu.be/b4JKrP5A7tc?t=54

In the video, the presenter clicks on ‘Override alignment’. (See screenshot)

On my UI I do not see this option? (See Attachment)

Please advise?

@Neill_Kropman Firstly, the style panel has been upgraded. So what you see on the videos will be different from what you’re using. Read more about it here - Meet the new style panel | Webflow Blog

Secondly, this is how it would look like on the new style panel.

I have that looking exactly like the screenshot of the new panel, but that doesn’t result in me being able to align the div block left in the container

Can you please share your read-only link?

Hi RohanGanachari,

I think I figured out where I was going wrong. To left align the div I needed to set it to “absolute” in the position section and set the “container” div to “relative.”

Thanks for your help.

Here is the read only link of the setting. Copy the exact settings and Heirarchy of the design to get the result

Hi, I’m having the same issue in Part 2 “Designing the home page hero section” with not being able to justify the DIV left.

I’ve tried the settings RohanGanachari suggested, and also tried Jbm’s suggestions.

Below is what appears in the tutorial and then under that is what I can see.

Could someone please provide updated steps with the upgraded Style Panel?
Thank you
