I was hoping you may be able to shed some light on this. I’ve been trying for months to get my google listing favicon to update. I had migrated my webflow website to a relume site on webflow. When I did this, my favicon changed to Relume’s logo.
For favicons in Webflow, you’ll need two images:
• A 32x32 pixel image for the standard favicon
• A 256x256 pixel image for the touch icon
To update your favicon:
Go to Project Settings > General tab > Icons
Upload your prepared images
Publish your site
Refresh your live site to see the updated favicon
Please note that search engines may take days, weeks, or even months to re-index and display your updated favicon. While you can request Google to recrawl your site, this doesn’t guarantee faster processing.
Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.
I have taken a look at your site and I think I see the issue. The problem may not be with the favicon itself, but rather with the fact that you are using Relume’s favicon instead of your own custom one. You mentioned that your favicon changed to Relume’s logo when you migrated to Relume site on Webflow.
To fix this, I would suggest going to your Site Settings in Webflow and selecting ‘Custom’ for your favicon. You can then upload your own custom favicon. I would also recommend checking to see if the favicon is correctly linked to your site’s HTML in the ‘Custom Code’ section of your Site Settings.
Google suggested that up until 2024, then removed it entirely from their docs as part of a clarification. Webflow’s rel=”shortcut icon” setup appears to align fine with Google’s requirements. They do recommend > 48px now however.
