Form field type styling issue

CAn anyone help with this form related puzzle? The form field type styling isn’t working in the way it usually does as shown here https://webflow.com/feature/style-form-placeholder-text

So I can’t change the font from the default one, no matter what I try. Also, there seems to be no state for ‘text inputted’ so can’t change the colour from the same as the background one.
