Font Jumps On Load (Even With Swap!)

Three custom fonts uploaded to Webflow - Playfair Display, Lato Regular, Lato Bold.

All set to ‘Swap’ as per Webflow’s recommendation.

BUT… I’m getting CLS issues, which when investigating seem to be due to unstyled fonts loading

Google really doesn’t like it:

Any ideas how to fix?

Pre-loading the font perhaps?

The weird thing is I have another site like this that uses even more custom fonts and yet doesn’t have this issue…

If you’re not sure about CLS or aren’t comfortable using Chrome, check out this tool.

It makes a gif showing you what part of your website is causing the CLS.

And on mine, it’s the fonts…
