Exceeded the 100GB limit

"I received a warning saying: ‘This site will be upgraded on December 15 as it has exceeded the 100GB limit for the Business Site plan.’

When I checked in the Webflow interface, I realized that some large image sizes caused this issue.

I am optimizing them now. I noticed some mistakes I made earlier, and I’m fixing them. For example, I’m reducing a 10KB image to 1KB.

I’ve made great progress, but it’s not finished yet.

However…

I see that the images I deleted are still being counted. For instance, an image I removed on December 6 is still in the top 10 of the ‘most data-consuming assets’ category on December 8.

What should I do in such cases of asset changes? Does anyone have experience with this?"

Yep, I do a lot of site optimizations.
A few things to keep in mind-

  • The built-in image optimizers can fail on large images and you might need to run them several times in order to optimize everything. There’s not much feedback on the CMS tool in particular, so check your work as best as you can
  • Open browsers might be pulling old images until they refresh their HTML cache, that can happen for a few days
  • RSS feeds and open graph images URLs will still reference the original files
  • Reconsider non-essential large media like background vids and large SVGs, lotties, etc. If you need them and are hitting bandwidth limits consider off-hosting them.

When you run the reports to the most recent 1 day, you can get a good picture of what’s still a problem. I’ve re-optimized a 2.4TB site to 400GB just applying these processes, but it’s a grind.

Many thanks for your support!

I would like to ask something, for instance I have a image file which do not display anywhere in website (not loading) but it is in the asset folder, it is still consume bandwiths?

@serhad - Bandwidth usage is measured when an asset is loaded by browsers accessing it. An asset sitting on the CDN with no traffic consumes no bandwidth.
