Abnormally bandwidtha increasing on a simple site causing unnecessary money loss

Issue: Simple 1 page website taking 70GB+ bandwidth suddenly

In my workspace I have a simple landing page

It’s not even a dynamic site. Just a single page website. All the heavy content are in third party platforms It was pretty light weight site before connecting to the domain and buying the hosting. I bought the basic site plan. Now the website’s bandwidth is increasing so rapidly (over 70GB+)

Just when we bought webflow site plan, its keep increasing upgrading tp the “Business site plan” here’s what happened over time

Hi there,

When your site exceeds its monthly bandwidth limit, Webflow provides complimentary surge protection for the first occurrence. However, if the bandwidth limit is exceeded for two consecutive billing months, your site plan will automatically upgrade based on the lower bandwidth usage from the previous two billing months.

To monitor and investigate your bandwidth usage, navigate to Site settings > Site usage. Here you can view which pages and assets are consuming the most bandwidth, including traffic from both bots and non-bots, as well as all status codes.

For more details about billing months and automatic upgrades, please refer to our bandwidth documentation.

Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.

Check if bots are hammering the site , had a client’s landing page hit 50GB+ just from scrapers. Add a firewall/CDN layer (Cloudflare works well) and compress/optimize any hosted assets. Also watch for hotlinking, since third parties embedding your files can spike bandwidth fast.

That’s a 1 month view and shows steady traffic, which means it’s quite possibly just good, organic traffic.

Optimize your assets, you have JPG’s at the top of the list, that’s costing you.

In your site dashboard under SEO settings, disable Allow Artificial Intelligence Bots. if you want to minimize traffic.

The rest is a question of the HTML, that can be proxied and cached easily to minimize traffic. Large assets can be off-hosted.
