Do i need to upload custom fonts?

hi guys, i am using Open sans font (from designer) on my website, and this font is not available on this (attached) page’s search bar. do i need to download this font and upload here under custom fonts? is this necessary for seo/pagespeed?

i have fount this font via google fonts: Google Fonts

do i need to download ttf file and upload in custom font?

should i do this for a better experience?

thanks

Localizing fonts is recommended. Using TTF is not. Modern browsers support woff2 so that is what I recommend. You can convert a TTF or find a source for the correct format. Convert ttf to woff2 | Everything Fonts

i have two TTF files, which one to convert an

d upload to custom fonts…?

Look at the names and determine that. One is normal the other is italic. Maybe you need both.

i haven’t added the woff2 files, but getting this in pageinsight (reduce the impact of third party code)… will this be gone after i add the files or…?

and now i am uploading, do i need to change any settngs?

hi @arslan.2010 We have already recommended you several times that you visit WFU to learn the basics of using this platform. Please follow our recommendation, as it is in your best interest.

Beside this link there are many other sources online in written or video form.

I had Open Sans font in the Google Fonts category inside Designer. I’m not sure if these were uploaded fonts or not, and the developer who designed this website is not replying.

Just now, I uploaded Open Sans as a custom font in Project Settings and set the fallback font to Arial (which is a web font inside Webflow). Now, the mobile load speed has decreased further from 90 to 78. I am seeing a couple of new fields/options in the report .

I’m not sure if I needed to upload the custom font or if I made any mistakes.

Other options are 0ms, but Google CDN is 750ms. Why is this so much even after uploading custom fonts?

If your site uses a Google font anywhere, even just one element, the webfont script will be loaded and so will the font.

Please review the documentation in the Webflow University before posting.

can you please explain this in simple words rather than developer terms? i am just an early stage engineer … :slightly_smiling_face:

Should I not add custom fonts? Or are you saying I’ve added custom fonts for Open Sans, but my website is using another font as well?

I’ve checked each heading and paragraph, and they all use Open Sans. Is there another way to check if I’m using any other fonts besides Open Sans?

And what if I am using another font? Do I need to replace that font with Open Sans, or should I add a custom font for the other font too?

i am getting these 3 links for fonts, first 2 are the ones i have just added, 3rd one not sure whats this:
