Can I trigger an interaction animation inside a link block with 'button current state'?

I have a navigation menu with link blocks that is linked to different pages. On hovering over the link blocks an interaction animation is played inside the link block. I want this interaction animation to also play when the link block is in ‘current state’. Possible?
