Animated AVIF files

Hello. My team wants to add animated images to some pages on our site, and to achieve this under 4MB it seems animated AVIF is the way to go.

However, when trying to upload the files I get the following error toast.

  • Are animated AVIF files supported in WebFlow?
  • If so, is there a specific way they must be created in order to upload them?

In Webflow’s docs and announcements, I have not seen any mention either way regarding animated AVIF.

If Webflow assets won’t accept it, you could host the file externally somewhere like Cloudflare R2 or bunny .net, or Flowdrive.
