I’m creating a marketplace with Webflow and Wized. It’s an MVP going straight to market because we already have agreements with vendors.
My idea was to use Xano, but it’s €99, while with Webflow it would be €29. We’ve calculated and we’ll have around 300-400 items in the database. In my research, I’ve seen that WF CMS provides everything I need.
The only thing missing would be user authentication. We could potentially use Xano just for authentication.
Is it wise to use the CMS, or will it give me problems in the future? Would it be better with Xano? Which one is faster?
hey @Stefo ,
Having Xano as the main database is the best solution, especially to avoid the API request limits imposed by the Webflow CMS. The optimal approach is to synchronize the Webflow CMS with Xano. This way, you get the SEO benefits of static pages generated by Webflow while managing all other operations—creating, updating, filtering and modifying data—directly in Xano, ensuring scalability without issues.
Think of Webflow as the storefront of your shop, while Xano acts as the warehouse. In the store, you’ll only showcase the clothes you want to display, while all the other inventory remains in the warehouse to save space. Storing all your data in the Webflow CMS is not scalable because it wasn’t designed for that purpose.
