Hi im having issues in the checkout page where the subtotal and total show the same price on the published site, but not in the designer?? Does anyone know how to fix this. Automatic Tax calculation is turned on.

Perhaps Monto-related?
It would explain why you’re seeing it in the published site only as that’s where these scripts would run.
Do you have any solution for this issue if the Monto script is causing the issue?
I don’t use Monto so I can only give general troubleshooting guidance-
I’d disable it, and see if that fixes the problem.
If it does, you’ve isolated and verified it.
Then recheck the docs and review your configuration to see if you’re missing something.
Then contact Monto support if you think you’ve found a bug.
