Webflow-hosted PDFs go blank white after few seconds

I am having this issue on a live page while testing on Chrome browser Version 68.0.3440.106 for Macintosh…

The two in line text links at bottom of first column link to PDFs I have uploaded to Webflow.

I am NOT having this issue:

1. On current mac Safari

2. On current iOS Safari

3. On current iOS Chrome

4. with same PDFs hosted elsewhere like this:
   http://donnatrumplova.com/darknet/PDFs/ALFA-ARKIV_Userflow.pdf

I am curious to see if others using Chrome on Mac can recreate this bug.

Thanks for posting about this. I did some testing on this end using the same setup – Mac + Chrome browser Version 68.0.3440.106.

I was unable to reproduce the issue. Both of those PDFs opened as expected and didn’t turn to blank white after several minutes.

A few questions about this issue:
What sites are you seeing this issue occur in – only this project or multiple projects? When did it start occurring?

Can you please try the following:

• Try to reproduce the error while being logged into Webflow using Incognito mode with browser extensions turned off: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en
• If the problem persists, please take a screenshot of your Console and send it to me: https://developer.chrome.com/devtools/docs/console

There is a bug in this version of the Chrome browser on MacOS that causes ALL pdfs to go white after a second. I doubt it has to to with webflow. The easiest work around if this is the case is to go to another tab and then back, but even this was so annoying that I downloaded and installed the prior version of Chrome until they fix the pdf bug. Supposedly, Google knows about this bug, but it’s unclear how high a priority it is for them. Someone also reported that reloading the pdf using command-R also restores the pdf. If these things work for you then it’s definitely not related to Webflow.

I did some digging and sure enough this is a Chrome Bug: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=870404

Hopefully they’ll have this resolved soon
