Trigger Modal Visibility from Multiple Components

Hope this makes sense.

I created a simple pop-up modal called “Popup Container” in the view-only link below. I want all the buttons on the page to trigger that modal and make it visible. My problem is that the buttons in the sidebar and on the main page are all nested inside components.

When I try to make a new animation to trigger the visibility from those buttons, I can only select items to interact with within the component, while the modal I’m trying to open is outside of each of these components.

Yep, it’s confusing the hell out of me too.
You can get this to work if you right click on the component and press Unlink, but then it becomes a new component and you have to replace all the other components.
I cannot believe there is not a better way of adding interactions to components.
