Transparent hero text - blend modes

I am trying to achieve a full window hero section with large headline, which will be transparent to show a video behind.

I’ve managed to do this using ‘mix-blend-mode: multiply’ and making the text white, and the background color of the heading black. See here;

However I don’t want the background to be solid black, I want it to be a lighter black/grey which means that the blend mode starts to reveal the video below.

Any ideas how I can fix this?
