I currently have a live site (Site-A) on the CMS Site plan, and I’m developing a redesigned version (Site-B) that’s on a Starter plan. Site-B is nearly ready, and I’m planning to go live next month.
What’s the proper way to transfer the site plans from Site-A to Site-B?
I found a similar question from four years ago with no answers, so I’m hoping there’s now a way to do this without incurring additional costs. I already upgraded Site-A to the CMS plan a few months ago specifically so I could create more than two sites while working on the redesign. Both site are under the same account.
I’m really hoping for some guidance on this as our intended go-live is at the beginning of February. I didn’t fully understand how the site plans work when I started the redesign, which is why I didn’t look into this sooner.
If B is replacing A, and A has been around for awhile, you probably want to export any redirects first, and make a copy of your sitemap. With those, prepare your redirect map for A, so that you can load it as soon as the site plan is moved and keep traffic flow seamless.
