Subdomain not working as expected, redirect to main site

I have added a subdomain in my project. I understand I cannot use unique pages unless I create a new project, so I am trying to take an existing page;

www.mysite.com/mypage

appear at:

subdomain.mysite.com/mypage

When I load the subdomain page, it kicks me over to www.mysite.com/mypage

Am I missing something or is publishing to a subdomain not really a thing?

If you only want to use a sub domain to host your webflow project then you would only set the CNAME value on the sub domain you wish to use.
