Slider text too wide

I’m experimenting with a slider (currently below the footer as I play with it) and the text is overflowing to cover the arrows.

How do I keep it inside the arrows?

You could add left and right padding to the slide element that holds your div and the text:

From what I understand from the tutorial, this shouldn’t be necessary?

The arrows are positioned absolutely left and right inside your slide element. Naturally content inside your slide will be overlapped by them (if they are positioned in the left and right) You will need to style your layout accordingly, you can do this in a number of ways. I suggest you you add a containing element that adds some white space on the sides and put contents inside of it.
