Thanks for the response @foxy
Just like all Foxy templates, the checkout page is 100% customizable with your own html, css, and js. We even have a tutorial for adding a custom header/footer from your Webflow site. The sky’s the limit when it comes to customizing.
That is good to hear. I would love to be able to see some examples of its customizability. Are there any tutorials or youtube videos highlighting this feature?
The dashboard is also quite complex and unintuitive without much info.
Sounds like you are referring to our legacy admin. We sent information on accessing our new admin. Did you try that out?
Yes, I have. I do find that the new interface is cleaner and more modern. However, I am not familiar with how your product works, so I am quite lost when trying to navigate everything. Tutorials and videos would be greatly beneficial here.
I received a pretty vague email describing how I could set the site up.
We sent over a very detailed email with general instructions, a working demo, and offered to transfer you a copy of the project (in addition to being available to answer any questions you have). We never heard back with any follow up questions. Please let us know how we can help.
I will admit, I missed the section about transferring over the project. Though we will have to disagree on the level of detail your email contained. To be clear, your demo was great, but there was no indication made to me on how that was achieved on the foxy end, only on the Webflow end. After 10 years of use, I am very confident with Webflow’s functionality and its design and setup isn’t the problem I would have.
I won’t deny that I appreciate the response (in the email and here) and it seems that you care about your customers, but your platform is very in-depth, and the email was overwhelming. It was filled with sections telling me about the code and other integrations I would need to implement without giving me any indication or links as to how to properly implement them for my use case.
I am the kind of person who also likes to understand why I am doing something. While there were a few minor steps giving me some sort of broad idea of what I would need to do to complete the integration, I was pretty overwhelmed and there were no detailed links or info on why and how to actually implement them step-by-step. This was the primary reason why I didn’t respond and just looked elsewhere for another product that was more simple, or had better learning resources.
I also don’t want to spend $1000 just to be told how to integrate it properly with Webflow in the way that I need.
This is a service we offer to those who aren’t comfortable setting up what they need or just don’t have the time. To confirm, what you’re after is 100% possible to do on your own.
I can appreciate the service for those who don’t have the time. But I don’t want to pay extra just to be able to use a product that I will potentially be subscribed to indefinitely.
Webflow and most tool-based products have amazing resources available for free for those who are uncomfortable with the product to start, but who are willing to learn how to use it.
When I first used Webflow in 2014, I knew nothing about web design. But I quickly learned because Webflow understood that educational tools are an asset for them. I have been a dedicated client of theirs for 10 years for this reason, even with their limitations over the years (though those are drastically improving with time).
I am willing to learn how to use your product, but the resources available seem very limited. When talking about an online store that involves the transaction of people’s funds for a product, messing around and trying to learn doesn’t quite cut it. Your documentation is helpful to a degree, but it doesn’t seem to be catered to clients who don’t already have a complete understanding of how these integrations work.
That is the beauty of Webflow. It is a tool meant for professionals, with the resources available for complete beginners. I think your knowledge base is sure to help those who already have a handle on such platforms, but it is quite broad for the most part. As a visual learner, I would say it could definitely do with more screenshots and videos. I will however admit, I may just be spoiled by Webflow’s amazing resources.
Face value, it sounds like Foxy is a great fit for your needs, but that you’re not satisfied with the support we’ve provided. No worries though. We understand we’re not a perfect fit for everyone. Hope you find what you’re looking for.
I agree. Foxy could fit. But I like to learn how to use things myself because I believe there is value in knowing how your website functions. I am just unsure if I am your target client base, based on my limited personal knowledge.
