I’ve built a Webflow site for a client that’s been running for many years. Their company has now been acquired, and they wish to redirect to the new corporate site.
I know the redirect is something handled at their end (I have no access to their DNS), but is there anything I need to do at my end, other than stop the renewal of the web hosting with Webflow once the redirect is working?
Ideally, they’ve already setup the new site so that it will handle the current URLs. If not, you could do an export of your current redirects, and download the current sitemap for them, just so that info is safe.
Many thanks for confirming that Michael. The site they’re redirecting to has been well established for a years. So I assume they need to do 301 redirects for all the URLS too, at their end?
Only for URLs they want to preserve from your existing Webflow property.
If you have /contact and the other site has /sales or something instead as their preferred contact path with nothing at /contact, they probably want to redirect rather than 404.
