Og:url missing from open graph tags?

Hi,

https://ogp.me/ states that " The four required properties for every page are:

  • og:title - The title of your object as it should appear within the graph, e.g., “The Rock”.
  • og:type - The type of your object, e.g., “video.movie”. Depending on the type you specify, other properties may also be required.
  • og:image - An image URL which should represent your object within the graph.
  • og:url - The canonical URL of your object that will be used as its permanent ID in the graph, e.g., "https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117500/“.”

But is it me, or is webflow missing the canonical url tag? I guess this could be entered manually, but that is a faff

I assume there is some code to automate this on webflow?

Thanks

Keith

same issue here. Webflow automates these 4 og tags, but NOT the og:url tag. This is needed.

og:title
og:description
og:image
og:type

I can get the image, description (in the Settings of the page template ) but the URL is for some reason still drawing an issue in spite of that seeming like the easiest thing to supply. Anyone else figure out if this is a settings issue (hidden somewhere) or if Webflow is looking to address this?

Also looking for this, any luck yet?

Found a fix, see the post link below;

That is a good solution for CMS pages :+1:

I cannot believe this is still an issue in 2022. Webflow creates pages that’s the not open graph compliant by missing the og:url meta tag.

While the cited solution will work for cms pages it won’t work for non-cms pages. We would have to put this tag manually into the head of each page and hardcore the url. Yuck.

Still an issue in June 2023. Added a solution that works for all pages in the Site’s Settings - also posted at:

Still an issue in 2024 - Webflow, are we looking to add this field into the Open Graph Settings?

Bump to 2025! Helloooo?

 Yo guys, this is what the Webflow wishlist is for, tracking feature requests and upvoting them.

Find or add this one, and share it here. Webflow’s devs effectively won’t see it in community forum chatter.

As of June 5, 2025, I think this is fixed.

While options for OG-Images are more granular it’s still not possible to set the og-link natively.
