🚀 New App Release: Breakpoint Style Mover

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to share that my very first Webflow App has just been published on the Webflow Marketplace - Breakpoint Style Mover

:high_voltage: What the app does

Right now, the app is very simple and does mainly one thing:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Move styles from one breakpoint to another

This helps solve the common pain point of accidentally styling on the wrong breakpoint, so instead of starting over, now you can just move the styles across.

:light_bulb: Why I built this

I’ve been wanting to get into Webflow app development for a while. Couple of weeks back I came across a forum post where people expressed frustration about accidentally designing on the wrong breakpoint.

I’ve been there myself, styling something on the wrong breakpoint and then having to redo everything; super frustrating :scream: :scream: :scream:

That gave me the idea: using the Designer API, I could build a simple copy/paste-like feature to move styles between breakpoints.

:crystal_ball: What’s next

The use case might be small/rare, but I really wanted to test myself by building something useful and bringing it to the community.

I’d love ideas from the community members on how to extend it further. Some thoughts:

  • Instead of just Move, add a Copy option
  • Adding functionality to Search particular class name

If you’ve ever wished “I wish Webflow had this…” please share it. For now I’m looking something related to breakpoint and styles/classes. I can’t promise every idea will happen, but I’ll definitely explore what’s possible.

:raising_hands: Over to you

If you’ve ever been stuck after styling on the wrong breakpoint, and wished to move/copy styles between breakpoints, I hope this app makes life a little easier.

Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and any feature ideas.

Thanks for sharing @abirana, I’ll definitely keep this app in mind, because I have designed on the wrong breakpoint before and will probably do it again. One added functionality that will be nice to have is the ability to delete higher breakpoints styling, I hate when I paste a components from a project with higher breakpoint styling and get that breakpoint added to the current project, It would be nice if your app could get rid of unwanted higher breakpoints styling. Thanks.

Super handy idea , I’ve had to redo whole sections after styling on tablet by mistake, so this would save a ton of time. A copy option feels like the natural next step, especially when experimenting with responsive tweaks.
