Largest Contentful Paint - how to fix?

Hi all,

Last few days trying to improve my performance on PageSpeed Insights and have recently ran into a series of Largest Contentful Paint element, which I am not sure how to fix. (Please see below)

I also tested the website on Unlighthouse and found these similar issue (all of them seem to be Largest Contenful Paint):

How can I rectify this situation and what does it even mean?

Please help.

Thank you in advance!

What research you have done so far? Did you type LCP into YT? There is a tons of videos explaining what LCP is and how to deal with issues beside Articles on internet. :man_shrugging:

Thanks @Stan

All of this info is completely brand new to me, and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I watched this video previously actually but what I don’t understand is how the text can take so much time to render

Could you help explain this?

I’ve had the same issue. I even created a new page with only a Rich Text element containing default dummy content, yet the LCP is still over 5 seconds. I just found another post from someone experiencing the same problem. Strange.

Hi,

I’ve reviewed the screenshot you provided, and it looks like your LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) score is lower than recommended. LCP measures how quickly the largest visible element—typically an image or block of text—appears on the screen. Improving this score is key to enhancing user experience on your site.

If you’re using custom fonts, they might be delaying text rendering. A quick fix is to preload the critical fonts for above-the-fold content or use the font-display: swap property. This ensures text is visible right away in a fallback font until your custom font loads.

There might be other optimizations, such as reducing image sizes, that will further help boost your LCP score.
