Help using Site Search

Hello, guys!

I’m creating a website for a courier company here in Brazil and they asked me if I could create some ‘momentarily solution’ for tracking packages. So I immediately thought that I should create a Collection for the packages orders and add a Site Search for the users to search their packages. Also, I’ve disable all Site Searches for all the pages, but the Collection Template page.

Well, I don’t know if I should wait a little bit more, or if I did something wrong, or even if I’m unaware of how Site Search works, but I can’t find any results by searching the ‘track number id’.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you very much!

Hey @leandrini,

Firstly to see actual results you will need CMS hosting on your website.

As @webdev mentioned the other day:

Creating an index

Once you’ve added CMS or Business hosting, your search index is created after you publish your site for the first time .

You can design your search results before your index is created (or before you add hosting) by working with our sample results.

Updating your index

There are two ways to update your index so the content in search results matches the latest updates to your site content:

  1. Manual reindexing
  2. Automatic reindexing

On CMS hosting, manual reindexing is available once every 24 hours . On Business hosting, manual reindexing is available once every hour. On CMS hosting, automatic reindexing takes place once every 72 hours , and on Business hosting automatic reindexing takes place every 12 hours.

Let me know if that helps
