Google ReCAPTCHA Issue

Hello Webflow friends -

I’ve got reCAPTCHA set up on a few sites, and it on Google’s admin page, it shows me a graph of passes and fails. However, there’s also a banner that says, “We detected that your site is verifying reCAPTCHA passed solutions less than 50% of the time.”

So … what’s up that? Is the graph only showing me the times that reCAPTCHA worked properly?

Thank you,
Scott

Has anyone here experienced this?

Are you using Webflow’s reCAPTCHA or did you try to set this up yourself?

I’m using Webflow’s, following the Uni walkthrough.

I have the same question, but can’t find an answer anywhere.
Also using the buildin Webflow Recaptcha - entered the proper key & secret, but Google Recaptcha gives the notice that it’s not used properly.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue with all my webflow site as you have above. I hope someone provides some insight as to what this actually means in the real world. I assume that WebFlow implementation of ReCaptcha may as well not be on the page as it isn’t challenging any of the submissions?

At least that’s what I take from this part of ReCaptcha Console’s message: “your site isn’t verifying reCAPTCHA solutions”.

This is really bad and needs sorting out asap. It won’t be long before we start getting client complains about spam!

I have the same issue on a recent recaptcha integration. Did anyone manage to work out what this means please?

Have similar issues… I’ve searched all over the forum, google, other webflow designers, etc. and it’s a problem many people are having but nobody seems to have a solution. hopefully someone out there can solve!

I’ve always seen issues when someone uses the wrong key version. Google defaults to a newer key than Webflow support, so you have to choose the right one.

Beyond that, no idea… make sure if you have reCAPTCHA on, all of the forms on your site have reCAPTCHA elements.

If you’re still getting issues, try submitting without solving the reCAPTCHA. If it’s not working I’d contact support.

Thanks @memetican. Key type is v2, using the correct keys (Legacy as Google Cloud suggests) and all forms have recaptcha elements, and site setting is switched on. Forms are working (submissions being received) so the only issue is the warning from Google that the set up is incomplete and “Your key is requesting tokens (executes), but isn’t requesting scores (assessments).”

Experiencing this on two sites. One only used native WebFlow forms, the other uses both native forms and a MailChimp embedded form. The fact that both are experiencing the same issue suggests it’s something with WF and/or Google not MailChimp.

I’ve submitted a support request with WF and will let folks know if I get any answers.

Update: I received the following reply from WF Support…

"I’ve checked your form and reCAPTCHA field in Webflow and it’s all set correctly.

This can sometimes appear even when everything is correctly configured on the frontend. It’s not specific to Webflow and can happen on other platforms as well. Occasionally, these warnings show up due to false positives on Google’s end or increased spam bot activity. If reCAPTCHA is functioning properly on your site, blocking spam and allowing legitimate users then this message can usually be ignored.

These warnings often go away on their own after a short time, especially if they are due to false positives."
