Hello, Sofia here.
I am publishing my first site online for my swim lesson business. It looks like my www name is not connecting properly. I bought my domain on cloudflare and connected the two using webflow’s Quick Connect tool. The name . net looks like it is connected properly, so I’m not sure why the www is not working. Any help appreciated!
Secondly, I was wondering if I should toggle on the minify settings in advanced publishing options? I watched the the Webflow university guide about what they are, but I am wondering if they truly make a difference in the site and if they should be toggled on for all sites as a nice rule of thumb or if there are depending factors?
Also is there any other helpful things to toggle on/off or check in the settings before publishing?
I still have many checks to do before publishing my site, like SEO, alt tags, checking headings, links, etc. but will add my read only link.
When using Quick connect, the www subdomain (e.g., www.yourdomain.com) is automatically set as the default domain. DNS changes typically propagate within a few hours, though it can take up to 48 hours to fully complete across all locations. You can monitor your DNS propagation status using whatsmydns.
Regarding minify settings, these can be found in your project’s publishing settings. Minification helps reduce file sizes by removing unnecessary characters from your code without changing functionality. This includes removing comments, formatting, and unused code. When enabled, it can improve your site’s loading speed.
Publishing options can be accessed through your project settings, where you can configure various options like:
Minification for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Custom 404 page settings
Password protection
Search engine indexing preferences
Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.
You’ve added the domain, but have you published the site?
At a glance it looks like your DNS is routing to Webflow, but there is no site to show.
Make certain to publish to your domain.
If that does not work, it’s likely a configuration issue and you may want to contact support. They’ve made some changes recently and the AAAA error is popping up recently for folks, I dont’ know enough bout the correct procedure to deal with that properly.
Yes it make a significant difference both on performance and on bandwidth. However it also makes the resulting code difficult to read, which some advanced designers need. Thus you have a choice.
