I followed the very cryptic instructions to embed a video that will autostart and loop, following these instructions:

and various other snippets elsewhere like using aplaylist not a video.
My problem is the about 1 whole page of elements below the embed is missing. I dont know why.

it means your code isn’t correct, check it again and make sure that all the tags are closed with a closing tag. Including iframes.
