Dynamic slider conditional visibility bug

I suspect this is a bug but if it’s purely an error on my part and I should be posting in design help, please do move the thread/lock and I’ll post it there instead… The problem is when assigning conditional visibility to the slides it shows an extra empty slide.

Read-only link: https://preview.webflow.com/preview/egslidertest?preview=b4e4aacca2d1a476ba6d0e8e14242723

Example: http://egslidertest.webflow.io/imgs/accusantium

If I set conditional visibility to “image # = is set” it hides all empty slides except one, e.g if max slides = 5 and only 3 images are set, there will be a 4th empty slide, if 4 images are set, the 5th slide shows up empty.

Hi @Iggemax

Thanks so much for posting. That is definitely strange.

I looked into your preview link but it looks like you may have edited the site since making this post.

The slider widget isn’t fully dynamic at this time, which is possibly why you are seeing the issue.

Without looking at your build, it sounds like you had conditional visibility set on the image elements rather than the slides themselves which may also be causing the issue.

Is the issue still occurring for you?

EDIT: We were able to reproduce the behavior and filed a report for this! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will post back here when we have a solution.

Thank you very much @Brandon!

I apologize for the extra work, I forgot about the post while messing about on the site. I tried to set conditional visibility to the just the slides, just images and both. I also reproduced the error and published the site so the link is available again.

As always, thanks for the amazing work!

Sincere regards,
/E

I’m noticing the same issue with a build I’m working on.

@craigteel Please, take a look on your “Preview link”, it’s not working :frowning:

Thanks. It’s now corrected.

Hi @craigteel

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

I have added your site to our report on the issue. We are definitely working on it - hoping to have a resolution as soon as possible!

Please keep the feedback coming - we read and log every update so if you run into more strange behavior, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your patience

I wish I had thought of bringing this issue to the forums literally all the way back in November last year. I’m needing to have dynamic visibility on a new site, aaannd encountering the same issue. I really hope it gets fixed soon. The best solution I have is to set a background image for the slider. Even then, it’s really annoying and looks botched when compared to sliders that have the max amount of images. I hope this is fixed realllyy soon. It’s a small issue, but very annoying none the less. And when I have an issue and try ignoring and getting around it, I always find myself getting punched in the face again with the same issue later down the road.

Hi @ELiTE Thanks for posting.

Can you please share your Read-Only link

I can then make note of your site–we are still investigating this issue, and hope to have it resolved soon.

Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

Hi @ELiTE, as a side note, the Slider is not yet dynamic, so applying conditional visiblity to individual slides based on criteria is probably not going to work as expected until the slider is made fully dynamic.

I understand it isn’t dynamic, but that doesn’t mean manual dynamic integration should cause something like this. It’s really benign.

And Brando, since then I replaced it with a custom slider with a script. It works like a charm.
